The Stairway Special Safety Gate (Model SS-30) is our maximum safety gate designed for the top of a stairway but it's great for all areas! Features include a unique latch system difficult for little hands to manipulate. The gate is constructed of aluminum which is lighter weight than steel.
All of our child safety gates are Juvenile Product Manufacturers Association (JPMA) certified.
Keep children safe on decks and patios with our Outdoor Safety Gate. This gate is the the identical to the model of the Stairway Special Safety Gate (Model SS30), but features all stainless steel hardware. It's the best gate on the market for outdoor use, period. Available in white, black or brown.
Note: Wood Clamps shown In all photos are sold separately. Wood clamps are unfinished for you to paint or stain to match your home decor.

10 ½ inch extension (Model BX1) is available for openings 42 ¼ to 53 inches.

The Cardinal Gates Stairway Special Baby Gate (Model SS30) is designed for maximum safety. This gate is great for all areas, and ideal for the top of the stairs. This hardware-mounted baby gate features a latch system that baffles toddlers yet allows one-handed operation for adults. The included optional one-way stop bracket prevents the gate from opening over a stairway, providing higher safety and more peace of mind. The latch system on the Stairway Special allows for the gate to have the ability to mount at angles up to 30 degrees, allowing installation in unique areas and for mounting to offset studs in drywall. At 29.5" tall, this gate is adjustable and able to close off openings from 27" to 42.5" out of the box, with optional 10.5” and 21.75" extensions (Models BX-1 and BX-2, sold separately) to increase the span up to a maximum of 64.25". This gate is constructed of high quality aluminum, which is light weight and virtually rustproof, with no plastic pieces to break or wear out. The powder-coated finish provides a long lasting, easy-to-clean. All necessary hardware for basic installation is included in the box. Available in either white or black, the Cardinal Gates Stairway Special Baby Gate is sure to help make your home safe and secure for your child.
